Details of the Day
So the Honeypot shoot is drawing near
I was at Gut Sonnenhausen yesterday checking everything, and I have a very good feeling about this (the opposite of what Han Solo usually says).
Some of you receiving this email will be musicians who will perform at the Party / Mini Festival at the end of the shoot – and I will be writing to you separately too with info just for the musos 😉
We also need a fair few ‘helpers behind the scenes’ so if you, or you know anyone that would like to be involved but are camera shy, then this would be the perfect role for them – they can sign up and in the ‘Questions’ field put ‘backstage helper’.
TRAVEL
We will organise travel arrangements – there is plenty of parking space at Gut Sonnenhausen. If you will drive and you have space for passengers please let us know. If you won’t drive (and you’re travelling from Munich) we´would suggest taking the S6 to Grafing Bahnhof and we will organise a shuttle service from there (10 minute drive) please let us know so we can coordinate enough transport.
If you are travelling from elsewhere and need help, please let us know also.
If you are parachuting in, just watch where you land.
NOW – this is important. There are two strands to the film shooting:
The ‘One Shot’ and ‘The Ben Hur-esque’ Scene.
The Ben Hur-esque scene will be everybody – a mass of people all ‘jogging / moving’ together as one (some may be in wheelchairs, on a bike, in a wheelbarrow, being carried etc.) – for this team you should arrive at Gut Sonnenhausen on Sunday 19.10. at 12uhr – filming to commence at 12:30 and it should be finished by 15uhr, if not earlier if all goes well. (If you haven’t already had lunch, can I suggest you bring a packed lunch, perhaps to eat on your journey – there will be food, but after the shoot – there will be water etc. available (the ‘good’ drinks after the shoot).
Film shoot clothes / costumes – you should bring something that is perhaps ‘interesting’, unusual, or it could be also completely ordinary (we need VARIETY), but ‘Skurril’ is the watchword for this shoot – please feel free to send me photos and we can make suggestions. – BRING SENSIBLE SHOES, we don’t want any accidents on the Wiesn! (I feel like a Schoolmaster!)
ALSO – we need some little props for you, something that you can bring yourselves – imagine you were doing something at the time and then were suddenly transported to the Honeypot field, and you continue your activity, or try to – for instance we might have someone brushing their teeth, someone on the phone (old phone would be better), someone carrying a picture frame with their head in it, someone carrying a child, someone tying a tie, someone is conducting an orchestra, someone is making a mime, someone is kneading dough, someone is brushing their hair, someone is making paper aeroplanes, someone is drinking wine (or tying to), someone is pouring wine (or trying to) – hopefully this gets your creative juices flowing.
ALSO IMPORTANT!
You will need to bring:
‘Stage’ clothes
A change of clothes (and shoes, socks)
Umbrella
I would recommend something like a warm blanket for inbetween takes
Gloves, woolly hat, scarf, warm coat,
Umbrella
Towel
A festival chair (if you have one) might be a good idea – but there are also chairs there we can use.
A bucket for evacuating unwanted ‘water’ – I’m joking with this one (there are toilets)
UMBRELLA
Headache tablets
**I realise several of you are coming from quite far away (flying etc.) we can source a lot of this for you so you don’t have to carry everything.
Oh and if anyone knows sign language, or knows anyone that can, please let me know.
-----------------------------------------------
The second strand: The One Shot.
This will make up the part of the film that leads up to the Ben Hur-esque moment.
We need a small team of ‘elite and dedicated’ people that are prepared to arrive at Gut Sonnenhausen at 8am and start shooting at 8:30 – IN ADDITION, you will need to take part in a rehearsal of the one shot on Saturday 18.10. in the Englischer Garten, Munich – arrival 9:30 – rehearsal start 10am until around 12- latest 13uhr
So we need 34 of you for this crucial role.
Make no mistake, this will be a difficult and hard video shoot, there may even be tears, but hopefully no blood – but I can guarantee you will have the experience of a lifetime, and imagine when we all succeed together in creating this crazy honey tinged dream – the after shoot party will be nothing short of ecstatic! You will love ´Gut Sonnenhausen, it really is a very special place with more importantly a tightly bound clan of special people, of which you will become part of.
I and the Honeypot team thank you sincerely in advance, do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or harsh critique 😉
Looking forward to something magical happening on the 19th!
Yours, as always,
Sir Ian
